Mission
1. To create a broad awareness of the Centurions program and of our contributions to the local business and civic communities.
2. To develop and maintain internal communications programs amongst active Centurions as well as alumni of the program to communicate key activities, news, and events.
Responsibilities
- Generate a monthly newsletter that is transmitted by e-mail or facsimile to all active members, paid alumni, and Chamber staff
- Maintain a photo library documenting Centurions activities, projects, task forces, and other events.
- Maintain contact with business-focused media in Kansas City in an effort to garner coverage of task forces, projects, events, and other programming. Pitch one or more stories per month to local media.
- Provide updates to active member sponsors on Centurions activities.
- Provide updates to active Centurions on business activities of fellow Centurions.
Procedures
Broadcast e-mail messages to all active Centurions can be sent through Catherine Dobson The Chamber. Individual Centurions can send out all other e-mail messages to subgroups. For example, The Chamber cannot send an e-mail message to your task force members. Plan to build and maintain your own personal Centurions e-mail lists.
Newsletter and Website
The Jump Start and Fast Facts newsletters, website, and e-mails are the main sources for information. Each task force and committee chair will designate a point person to ensure information about the task force and committee reaches Chamber staff in time for publication. Fast Facts is distributed the first Monday of the month between September and June. Submissions are due no later than the preceding Wednesday. The website also provides updated information on task forces, committee activities, projects, and other events for Centurions.
