Mission
To establish and support the curriculum (i.e. task force topics) of the Centurions program. The committee will also provide leadership training workshops designed to enhance participants' leadership skills.
Time Allocation
The committee will initially meet to discuss goals and objectives for the program year. Members will serve as a liaison to one assigned task force. This type of support may require you to attend task force meetings or support the committee through periodic correspondence. There will be a limited number of set meetings, but individual time will be spent on assigned projects.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a liaison to a particular task force.
• Attend selected task force meetings to assist the task force in implementing an appropriate community leadership or community activism opportunity into each program (i.e., the "so what?" moment).
• Attend the Steering Committee meeting in the month preceding the assigned task force (e.g., the September meeting for the October task force) and report on the task force committee's progress in complying with the curriculum objectives and in incorporating the "so what?" moment.
• Attend meetings and participate in the formulation of the curriculum for the upcoming program year.
• Work with the rest of the committee members to develop the method for evaluating the task force presentation and take control over the process to determine the best task force award winner at the end of the year.
