What does your company do and what is your role there?
PREP-KC was founded in 2005 as Kansas City’s leading urban education intermediary. Its mission is to increase college-readiness and access to high-quality employment for the more than 60,000 mostly low-income students served by six of Kansas City’s bi-state urban school districts. PREP-KC provides investors with independent and timely data on the impact of their investment, a commitment to stewardship of their funds, and the opportunity to join together to focus resources on improving urban public education in the bi-state region. As a workforce liaison, I work to bridge the gap between local arts and communications companies and the students in the schools that are interested in pursuing careers in those industry areas. I also work with our post-secondary institutions in creating pathways to early college course taking for students.

Other organizations you volunteer or serve with: Drumm Farm, Kansas City Kansas Advisory Council in Communications, Theme Development Team for Kansas City, Kansas.

First job ever: Florist.

Town you first voted in: St. Louis.

What do you love about KC? What unique asset sells KC? I love the energy around trying to make Kansas City the best it can be, I love the strong visual and performing arts community and the new innovative work that they are inspiring, and of course I love the community’s giving nature.

Have you ever broken a bone? Nope. Closest I came was fracturing my foot last year.

Are you a Mac or PC? I have been a PC user since childhood and am happy to say that we had a divorce last year and I am now madly in love with my Mac. I will never own another PC.

Worst sporting event you’ve attended: I went to Wrigley field to watch the Cardinals and Cubs game back in 2002. It was the game cancelled because of a "tragedy for the Cardinal family." Darryl Kile had died of a heart attack that morning, and the Cardinals had just found out. It was a sad, sad stadium full of people.

KC place that is on your bucket list to visit: Oklahoma Joe’s. I am not that into BBQ, but everyone tells me I must go.

Best Kansas City shortcut: I can't tell you because I need it to stay a shortcut. But I am sure everyone north of the river would be really interested.
