What does your company do, and what is your role there? The Weitz Company is a general contractor providing construction services for commercial, industrial and federal projects. My role as vice president operations is to manage all preconstruction, estimating, and operations for the Kansas City office.

Other organizations you volunteer or serve with: Turning Point, The Center for Hope and Healing; Horizon Academy; Management Trustee for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters; The Builder's Association General Labor Committee.

First job ever: When I was 14 years old I started throwing hay for local farmers in my hometown of Nebraska.

If you had to do without one of your five senses, which would it be? Tough question, I would say hearing since my teenage daughters say I can't hear now.

Have you ever milked a cow? I have never milked a cow, but have been on many farms with milking cows while working for farmers.

Do you use Twitter? I don't use Twitter, not sure how it works.

What's a restaurant or dish you've always wanted to try? I would like to try Indian food, the only food I can think of we have not tried.

What's the best thing since sliced bread? I would say e-mail, staying connected is much easier today. However, if the question was what was worst thing since slice bread I would said e-mail again. At times it is too much.

What was your favorite activity (organized or otherwise) as a child? I enjoyed playing sandlot baseball with my friends,

What is the easiest way you've found to "go green"? Recycling at home, the local garbage pickup services make it very simple to separate the garbage for recycling.

What was the first long trip you ever took? When I was 15 years old I went to Chicago to visit an uncle for two weeks.

Do you have a hidden talent? My hidden talent is annoying my teenage daughters.
