What does your company do and what is your role there?
I’m the program director at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. I oversee all BBBS programming in Kansas City, St. Joseph, Maryville, and Warrensburg.

Other organizations you volunteer or serve with:
First and foremost, I’m a Big Brother to a 17-year-old senior at Washington High School in KCK. I also serve on the board of directors for BBBS St. Joseph, BBBS Maryville, and the BBBSKC Donation Foundation. Outside of BBBS, I also volunteer for the KCMSD and try to be as involved as possible in my neighborhood organization. Finally, my wife and I occasionally provide a temporary home for dogs rescued from shelters.

First job ever: Dish washer at a Bonanza Steakhouse in Independence, Missouri.

If you had to do without one of your five senses, which would it be? Smell.

Have you ever milked a cow? Yes, but only while supervised on the Shatto Tour.

Do you use Twitter?
Yes. @jqhile

What’s a restaurant or dish you’ve always wanted to try? Deep friend corn on the cob at RJ’s in Mission.

What’s the best thing since sliced bread?
Microbreweries

What was your favorite activity (organized or otherwise) as a child?
Watching or playing sports.

What is the easiest way you’ve found to “go green”? Planting a vegetable garden.

What was the first long trip you ever took? When I was 9, we drove from Kansas City to Seattle, Washington.  I rode the entire way on a jump seat in a 1983 Nissan King Cab Truck.
