What does your company do, and what is your role there?
UMKC educates Kansas City’s workforce. Our enrollment is approximately 15,000 through our undergraduate, graduate, professional, and executive education programs. As an urban-serving university we are also vitally linked to the welfare of our city and work to strengthen our community and meet the needs of Kansas City. I serve as the director of external Relations helping connect the university to the region and vise versa.
First job ever: Drove tractor for two summers. Endless, endless, endless circles.

What do you think is an important resource for entrepreneurs in KC? There is such an incredible entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kansas City. From the Kauffman Foundation to UMKC’s Bloch School of Management and KC Sourcelink, several support systems are in place to help a budding entrepreneur fully develop their vision.

Where do you take out-of-towners when they come to KC?
Union Station, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Power & Light District, and (of course) Oklahoma Joe’s.
